Personal Hygiene and Food Safety in the Sacred Valley

This month’s training curriculum focused on personal and home hygiene, including food safety. Our community health workers (promotores de salud) demonstrated their command of skills including hand washing and vegetable peeling. They will teach these skills to fellow villagers at each community’s General Assembly, and will explain the importance of good hygiene for reducing the spread of common illnesses like cough and diarrhea.

In the upcoming months, the Sacred Valley Health team will introduce more hygiene-based disease prevention skills that our promotores can share with their families and other members of their communities.
